How it works

  1. 1. Log each supervised drive in a few taps (day or night).
  2. 2. Keep a running tally of your day and night practice.
  3. 3. Keep an accurate record you can reference whenever you need it.

What Hawaii requires

In Hawaii, a learner permit is available starting at age 15 (15 years and 6 months old). Hawaii doesn't set a minimum number of supervised driving hours for a learner permit — but supervised practice is still how new drivers get safe behind the wheel.

Log every practice drive to keep an accurate record and watch your real experience add up. Even without a required total, a complete record is worth having by the time you take Hawaii's road test.

Frequently asked questions

Is this affiliated with the Hawaii licensing agency?

No. Driving Log is an independent tracking tool, not affiliated with any state DMV.

Is it free?

Yes — logging and tracking your Hawaii hours are free, with no subscription.

Does the supervising driver have to be a parent?

Not always — the supervisor has to meet Hawaii's licensed-driver rules, which often include a parent, guardian, or another qualifying adult. Confirm the specifics with your licensing agency.

Can I add drives from earlier dates?

Yes. Back-fill earlier supervised drives as long as the date isn't in the future.

Can I edit a drive after saving it?

Yes. Update the date, minutes, day/night, or supervisor at any time.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Driving Log runs in any mobile browser — there's nothing to install.

How do I know when I'm done?

Hawaii doesn't set a required number of hours, so there's no total to hit — Driving Log just keeps a running record of the day and night practice you have logged.

What happens to my data?

We store only your email and the driving entries you add — no ad, cross-site, or behavioral trackers, and no tracking cookies. For analytics we use anonymized, server-side-only visit counting, with no personal information stored.
